- Write eye catching headlines
- Right away you should look to state what your article is about and to demonstrate value to your reader
- Plan your posts
- Be sure to have a content strategy in place in order to deliver the right conent to the right audience
- Do your research
- Research your posts, studies show that blog posts that are at least 1500 words receive nearly 200% more views
- Use outlines
- Use outlines for quick consistent posts that can be used on a large scale optimized across all platforms
- Utilize images and infographics
- Studies have shown that the average blog reader’s attention span is approx. 7 seconds
CONSISTENCY IS KEY
- Content posting schedule
- Create a daily and weekly schedule of when and what you will post
- Experiment with different times of day
- Don’t be afraid to change things up if you are not getting the results you need
- Use a weekly posting template
- Keep track of what you post about so that you don’t become repetitive and dull
- Do NOT stop posting
- Disappearing for any length of time can kill your engagement with your audience as well as your SEO
- Add in “special events”
- Change up the weekly and daily formulas from time to time in order to keep your audience engaged

- Research your keyword
- It is important to know the keyword you plan to build your blog around and how your keyword ranks
- Optimize your blog for your keyword
- Utilize your keyword across the entirety of your blog: in the title, first paragraph of post, links, images, and attributes

- How to achieve this: have a contact page, get HTTPS, add a sitemap, fix broken links, no duplicated content
- Use SEO tools and/or Plugins
- I personally use Yoast for WP. SEO tools will help optimize and track your sites performance in search results and so much more
- Keep an eye on your analytics
- There many tools you can use to track your site’s analytics, the most common of which is Google Analytics
UTILIZE SOCIAL MEDIA
- Post across multiple platforms
- At minimum you should be posting on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn (I like mirroring on Medium too)
- Automate your posts
- Use automated social media tools to automate your posts across all of your accounts
- Engage with your audiences
- Respond to tweets and comments, participate in events and giveaways across different platforms
- Targeted advertising
- Utilize each platforms advertising in order to connect with your audience and drive them to your site
- Mirror blog posts
- Mirror your blog posts across other blog hosting sites
- Lead Generation
- Use social media to gather contact info on your followers and use data help shape buyer persona
EMAILING YOUR FOLLOWERS
- Capture follower emails
- Utilize some kind of form to capture your followers emails (I use a weekly newsletter sign-up)

- This helps increase your web presence and enables you to interact and network with other bloggers
- Reach out to other similar blogs
- Reach out to blogs similar to yours about guest posting, they may do the say to you in the future
- know your competition
- Research the other bloggers in your niche; who are they and what are they doing successfully
- Grow your presence
- Expand your audience by guest posting to another blog you open yourself up to an entire new audience
- Appear on podcasts
- There a lot of small niche podcasts that you certainly inquire about appearing on to help build your brand
